On 7 th.May , I took Lan and the whole family to attend Fund-raising Dinner for Autistic Children at UKM Autistic Laboratory led by Dr Hasnah Toran. We had planned to go for the dinner more than a month ago. So, after handing in my last assignment to Dr Parilah, I managed to keep my promise. My boys, especially Lan would have been disappointed if I had cancelled it (as there is always a directional from somewhere above which asked me to attend certain courses)
My boys were so excited to attend the dinner. Wearing new bought shirts, they thought they were the most handsome boys that night. Kakak,my eldest was happy to be there. It was good for her since she has been cooping up in the house for months. In two weeks time, she would be leaving home for her foundation course in UITM. Thus at the same time that dinner seemed to serve as a family gathering.
Lan was able to sit still the whole evening. The children were awesome. They were able to stand on stage facing everyone. I guess if Lan were to be up on the stage, he would also do well.He might wave his hand and jumped happily. He is unpredictable! He can be very shy at times and too friendly at some other times.
Wardina Saffiyah was a great MC! We met at the entrance of the hall earlier, shook hands and smiled to each other. She is too pretty. Kakak asked me "Why don't you take photo with her?" I gave a lame excuse saying that I left my camera on our table. She made faces at me saying that she could take my photo with Wardina using her handphone. I jokingly answered, "How could I take photo with someone who is far prettier than me? That would make me not pretty at all". Actually,I would not like to disturb Wardina. She needs to be by herself before the event of the day. She had a big responsibility that evening.
Congratulation to my dear friend,Dr Hasnah Toran for a good job. It was not an easy task.
Lan wanted a cat! Not just a cat. He wanted a Persian like the one he saw at my uncle's house. My husband and I thought it would be good as a therapy for him. Let him channel his compassion towards the cat! So this morning my whole family except Lan's younger brothers, who were at their grandma's place went to the flee market at Parit Sulung, Batu Pahat. A friend said that I could find a Persian cat there. So off we went at 7.30 a.m. Lan was smiling all the way.
We arrived at about 8.00 o'clock and spotted a man with his son selling pets. There were birds, rabbits and all sorts of animals but not a single cat. Lan was a bit disappointed. After buying spiral potato fries, we left the market. The man told us that he had a pet shop in Kluang town.
Twenty minutes later, we arrived at the pet shop. The price of the Persian cat was so dear (for me who did not earn that much). We left the shop and went to another one belong to a friendly lady in her late 30s. The cheapest was priced at RM1000. She claimed that I couldn't get the price in KL (of course!). At that moment, I wasn't ready to part with that amount of money just for a kitten.(unless money just comes flowing like water).
My dear Lan, you have to be contented with Lana, your limped cat. She needs your affection and care. When I have the means, I shall get a Persian for you dear.
